Is 1v1 LOL Dead? What Happened

Short answer

The official game is gone: JustPlay.LOL shut its servers down on November 3, 2025, and the old 1v1.lol domain does not even resolve any more. The game itself is not gone: a community-run revival, 1v1.LOL RELOADED, keeps 1v1 LOL online today: free, in the browser, same build-and-shoot, with live servers and matchmaking. Play it here.

If you searched "is 1v1 LOL dead", you already know the feeling: you went back to a game that used to be one click away, and it was not there. That part is real: the shutdown was announced, dated and carried out. What is not true is the part most people assume next: that the game is unplayable now.

What Made It Huge

1v1.LOL did one thing extremely well: it took the build-and-shoot loop that everyone was obsessed with and stripped away every barrier around it. No install. No launcher. No account. You opened a browser tab and you were in a build fight in seconds.

That combination of a high skill ceiling and zero friction is rare. It made the game a fixture on school computers and second monitors everywhere, and it built a genuine competitive scene around something you could play on a Chromebook.

So What Happened?

This one is not a rumour or a slow fade you have to squint at. JustPlay.LOL announced the end, gave players a deadline, and kept it:

  • The mobile versions went first. 1v1 LOL was pulled from the app stores ahead of the shutdown, so new installs stopped well before the servers did.
  • Steam and the browser version ran until the date. Players were told to spend any in-game currency before it, and whatever was left, along with unused items, went away with the servers.
  • November 3, 2025 was the end. The official servers were switched off for good after roughly five years. There is no maintenance window to wait out and no server to come back to.

Today the shutdown is complete in a very literal way: 1v1.lol has no DNS record at all. It is not blocked, not down, not slow. Typing the old address gets you nothing, because the domain stopped pointing anywhere. That is the part people run into when they go looking for the game they remember.

Is It Actually Dead?

It depends which question you are asking:

  • The original as an actively developed product? That era is over.
  • The game itself: the thing you actually want to play? No. It is alive, and it is free.

This is the part most "is it dead" articles miss. Browser games rarely die because people stopped wanting them. They die because the infrastructure underneath them stops being maintained. The demand outlives the servers, which is exactly why revivals happen.

The Revival

1v1.LOL RELOADED is a community-driven revival: the same build-and-shoot game, running on servers that are actively maintained, on a domain that is not on the old block lists. It is free, it needs no signup to start, and it still runs in a browser tab.

Rebuilding it meant rebuilding the parts nobody sees: matchmaking, lobbies, parties, progression, anti-cheat, so the parts you do see feel the way you remember. What is live right now:

  • Battle Royale: up to 60 players, the Chapter 2 flagship mode.
  • 1v1 Clash: ranked duels with divisions from Bronze to Elite.
  • The classics: 1v1, Box Fight 2v2, Zone Wars, Build Race, plus eight custom party modes.
  • Progression: Trophy Road, seasons, skins and a battle pass.
  • Parties & tournaments: squad up to 8 friends, or enter bracket events with prize pools.
  • Native builds: optional Windows client and Android APK, sharing the same account and lobbies as the browser.

How to Play It Right Now

Open the game and press play, and you are in the lobby as a guest in seconds, no account needed. Sign in with Google only if you want your progress, skins and rank saved across devices.

If your school or work network blocks game sites, use the unblocked page, which loads the game directly on its own domain.

Coming back after a long break? The controls are unchanged: WASD to move, Q/Z/C/V to build, F to edit. Our building techniques guide will get the muscle memory back faster than raw queueing will.

The Honest Footnote

1v1.LOL RELOADED is an independent, community-run project. It is not affiliated with the original developers and does not claim to be the official game. It exists for a simple reason: a lot of people still want to play, and somebody had to keep the lights on.

So, is 1v1 LOL dead? The servers you remember, maybe. The game, no. It is one click away, and the lobbies have people in them.
